The venue: our headquarters, which is currently undergoing a refurbishment. The space was cleared out in no time – what a dance floor! The dress code: Colourful! The wilder the colours, the better! So ditch the architect’s black and slip into something colourful! Drinks and more: From Violet Sprizz to non-alcoholic gin and tonic, plus a delicious buffet from Mahlwerk in Stockach featuring a three-course menu!
The decorations: a disco ball, an absolutely stunning lighting display, loads of balloons and lovely little touches – all made in Markdorf! This time, the Interdisciplinary Design team organised the party – and it really showed! And then there was the music: we were joined by a brilliant band from Stuttgart who played a wide-ranging set – and even got us pogo-dancing by the end.
“There are so many different people working here at Knoblauch; we’re simply a colourful bunch, and that’s what makes us who we are,” said interior designer Antje Uebele at the opening. Our managing director, Jürgen Zahn, agreed with her: “Exactly – that’s what we want to celebrate!”
And then there was that other thing. The small – or rather, in this case, large – detail that made this summer party something truly special. A space consisting of a volume of air shaped like a whale: the Pop-hub by ARTHELPS in Stuttgart, a creative organisation we’ve been working with for many years. At the start of the summer party, there was a creative workshop there with Peter and Hannah from ARTHELPS.
Whilst setting up the whale was a bit of an adventure in itself for the volunteers, the guests got straight down to work with their pens and a roll of paper several metres long. Drawing, doodling, hatching – anything went!
The aim was to work together to create shapes that would ultimately form a space. What will happen to the rolls? We’re not giving that away just yet. But you can be sure of one thing: they’ll find a place in one of our favourite rooms.
