This news did blow us away a little: We won the biggest audience award in the German economy for our innovative strength and creativity – and can now call ourselves Innovator 2024! But don’t worry, after the brief hyperventilating, we quickly got up again and continued to ask ourselves: What will the spaces look like in which we want to live, work and feel comfortable in the future?
‘The whole world is crying out for change and new, innovative solutions for spaces and rooms,’ explains our Managing Director and owner Jürgen Zahn. Keeping pace is not enough, we want to drive innovation and change. In other words, we want to be two steps – or even a half marathon – ahead. For example, in interior design in the retail and healthcare sectors.
Our Creative Director Jan Sappert is someone who analyses the changing needs of society on a daily basis. Together with a multi-member research and development team, he analyses the changes in various areas of life such as living, working, shopping, leisure and health. ‘Our world is changing faster than ever before due to new technologies and digitalisation, but also due to climate change,’ he says, ’and this is also changing the demands we place on the spaces we develop, plan and build.’
So we don’t just want to make spaces different and new, we also want to make them a little better. Better for our customers. But also better for society. And therefore better for the whole world in terms of sustainability.
Okay, that might sound a bit like megalomania. But to be honest, the big changes in our history have always started small. And we don’t want to keep up, we want to help shape them.
‘Our roots are deeply anchored in craftsmanship, we have never been afraid to tackle something new, to change and thus also to drive change,’ says Jürgen with a view to the 115-year history of our company. In short: we are craftsmen. And we know how to roll up our sleeves and all that.
For example, we are constantly working on innovative, sustainable shopfitting concepts, for example in the form of flexible pop-up furniture or rental concepts. Opening a new store, testing locations, presenting brands at trade fairs – all this works flexibly and easily with our lightweight customised furniture. Then there is our special furniture, which we develop and build for international luxury brands, for example: When design meets engineering and craftsmanship, things get particularly exciting.
And something completely new and exciting for us: healing architecture. Spaces that help with healing, for example in doctors’ surgeries, clinics or health centres. There’s still plenty of room for improvement when it comes to creating a feel-good atmosphere, isn’t there? You can be sure of that: We are in the process of making healthcare spaces a little better for patients and the much sought-after staff.
