Anyone who steps inside the venerable Modepunkt Häusler building in the beautiful town of Immenstadt in the Allgäu region immediately senses that individuality is a way of life here – from personalised customer service to the carefully thought-out shop design.

In spring 2026, we had the privilege of redesigning and expanding the women’s clothing section for the Walter family, who are now the third generation to run the fashion house, and partner Chris Meusburger. With a bold approach to colour and form, we have created a retail space of around 160 square metres on the ground floor, which impresses with its bold colours and expressive forms, taking the shopping experience to a whole new level.

Design draws inspiration from the front

The building’s striking exterior front alone tells the story of its long history. This is precisely where the design concept comes into play. “We deliberately carried the façade colours – lime green, sun yellow and rust pink – through into the interior design,” explains our interior designer Katharina Brinkmann.

The design language of the window frames also served as inspiration. “We wanted to translate this framing into the room in the form of different colour zones,” she says. The result: a bold, harmonious concept that Managing Director Jana Walter has wholeheartedly supported. “I love combining tradition with fresh ideas. Preserving the old, daring to try the new – and always having the courage to bring colour into life,” says Jana Walter.

A new colour palette for women’s wear

First, our designers revamped the colour palette. The dusty pink from the Modepunkt Häusler logo became peach pink, the green turned to olive green, and the yellow tone was softened to a sunny white. The concept is complemented by the Pantone colour ‘Canyon Sunset’, which adds deliberate rust-coloured accents. The result is an exciting colour composition that is just as surprising as the carefully curated range itself, and which perfectly showcases the entire product range – from clothing and shoes to accessories and lifestyle items.

The café counter as the centrepiece

A particular highlight is the café area, where peach pink, olive green and sunny white come together to create a striking yet inviting overall look. Right next door is the play area for the little ones. Shopping with the whole family – here, that’s not just a marketing slogan, but a reality. “Here, a granddaughter shops with her grandad, who has been holidaying in the Allgäu with the family for decades,” says Sales Manager Christopher Jirka, “and that’s down to the very welcoming atmosphere that makes customers feel at home.”

“I want my shop to be a place where you immediately feel at home – open, warm and full of joie de vivre. Just as I am myself.” Jana Walter, Managing Director

Colour-coded zones

The central area, which serves as a transition to the premium zone, is bathed in a deep olive green, creating a high-quality, tranquil atmosphere. This is followed by a spacious suite area that exudes privacy and a sense of security. Here, the interior designers at KNOBLAUCH have worked with the existing structure and carefully refined it.

A highlight in the lifestyle area: the wall shelf with an adjoining perforated wall in Canyon Sunset, a colourful eye-catcher. Here, coffee-table books, as well as lamps, home fragrances and candles from selected niche brands, are displayed, inviting visitors to browse, smell and touch.

Lighting concept showcases colours and shapes

The extraordinary colour scheme is complemented by furniture featuring soft, organic shapes: asymmetrical tables, rounded side panels on the display units that separate the collections by colour, and curved armchairs and seating. And since colours and shapes only come into their own when perfectly lit, we have included a holistic, warm and feminine lighting concept as part of the package. A particular eye-catcher: three Louis Poulsen PH5s above the inviting café counter. An absolute classic among pendant lights – but in colour!
