The blue line runs and winds its way through our sports superstore design, linking three buildings, four floors and six centuries over a good 1,700 square meters.
It guides customers through the store, highlights the many design details, and can also be found in adapted form on the store’s plastic bags. And ever since Lothar Matthäus’ description of a football pitch, we all know what the lines mean: there are two semi-circles, one circle, and the rest are just lines.
If we would award an Oscar for the most sportive shop fitting performance, it would go to the Sport Heinzel project. Event one: dismounting of original wooden beams in a 15th century house. Event two: hanging up a huge piece of furniture from the ceiling while the floor was being laid. Event three: fixing of ropes at the concrete ceiling and knotting in various presentation boxes using free climbing hardware. The whole thing with a speed record. Ready, steady….stop!
