This modern alpine store concept for Dirndl dresses, Janker jackets and more confirms that traditional national fashions are perfectly at home in a more contemporary environment. The successful combination of traditional and modern is apparent in many details and is intended to establish a sympathetic, light-hearted atmosphere:
Hand-painted embroidered motifs in the shape of flowers embellish white rear walls. Clothes hooks that look like hunting trophies hang in the changing rooms. Real wooden discs decorate the rear wall of the men’s department and harmonise perfectly with the Lederhosen. Against the wall lean three old doors, over which the latest men’s fashions are draped – exactly as if the “fesche Gwand” – Bavarian dialect for smart clothes – have already been laid out ready for the next day.
The Heracleum LED light from moooi hovers over the cash desk, forming a creative antithesis to the antique tables, accessories and restored sofa. The real eye-catcher though, is the large wooden shingle wall set at an angle above the entrance. The shingles come from an old house in the Allgäu region and were held on its roof for centuries with just stones and pegs.
